If you like Formula 1 (f1), then rally driving is something that you would like to try but it can be very dangerous when not done under professional conditions such as being unsupervised and not properly organised. It is basically racing cars that have been modified or specifically built for racing legally during track days. Rally driving requires the driver to have a co-driver where they take it in turns to drive between special stages and win based on speed. Rallying has been around since the beginning of the 1900's but only just started picking up during the 1950's.

Most places now have digital cameras installed in the cars recording your experience from start to finish. You can purchase them at the end of the day for a fee and replay back when you are in the comfort of your home to see your scared facial expressions and frustrated rants whilst on the circuit. Most rally driving experience days also finish off with a passenger ride by your rally instructor; this is the one to have a souvenir of, which records your facial expressions when shown how it's really done.

The most popular rally driving cars are Subaru and Ford Focus but there are many other cars that have been modified or specially built for the purpose of rallying. If you are going on an experience day, you can usually choose your vehicle and they will tell you what cars they use and what is available.

For rally driving, expect to pay £50 upwards depending on what package you have chosen. To save money why not book a group package where you will have part of the venue to yourselves. You will usually get a discount for group bookings. Rallying also makes for a good team building day for businesses whether large or small.

If you are interested in having a rally drive experience day, then try and book with the venue itself instead of going through a third party that acts as a middleman as you'll save money and you can liaise with them directly and have extras added such as a birthday or anniversary surprise. To learn to rally drive is not for the faint hearted as it can get your heart pumping. If you would like arrange a rally driving lessons for someone who is disabled, then call up and ask as there are specially adapted vehicles that are available on request so don't let that be a reason to miss out.

Rally driving is available all throughout the UK so you are sure to find somewhere that is not too far from you (eg Silverstone) - you can bring people with you to watch and take pictures and if they want a ride with an experienced rally driver this is usually available for a small cost usually starting from £10.
