December is the month where everyone is in a festive mood. Sometimes the preparation for Christmas and New Year can even start during the early days of November depending on how much needs to be done. If you have a large family and a lot of friends, then you will find it easier to begin the hunt for presents weeks before the last week of December so that you don't miss anyone on your list. And Christmas disasters can be avoided if you take the time to get things ready well ahead. The only problem is that during this festive period, we tend to forget all those little 'ToDo' things we're supposed to get done like renewing our car insurance policy.

Many people stick notes on the fridge so that they remember to do the important things while others prefer to have it written in their diaries or set reminders on their phones. That's all good if you do not forget to complete the tasks which you've so carefully taken the time to remind yourself. But all too often, we end up so much in the celebration mood that we just dismiss everything else that doesn't have any direct relevance with Christmas and New Year or we just convince ourselves that we'll get those things done first thing after New Year.

What people don't realise is that things like bills need to be paid no matter what, otherwise you can expect a big surprise after all celebrations have ended. You can get a penalty charge or have your services disconnected. The same holds true for car insurance, if you don't renew your car insurance in time, you can be in for a great shock because a lot more accidents happen during Xmas and New Year than the rest of the year. Now, if your car insurance policy has expired and you're unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, no matter how small or big, your whole Christmas and New Year could be spoilt. Not only that but you could also face severe financial problems because you'll have to foot the bill for repairs to your car and also be charged for driving without insurance.

Nobody wants problems especially during festive seasons and therefore it is of paramount importance to get to the things you need to do before it's too late. You can do that by not waiting till the last minute to renew your car insurance or pay your bills. If you have set reminders, do them straight away as soon as you come across them otherwise you'll forget.
