All learner drivers will need to have driving lessons at some point or another. Driving is not something that you can just learn through books, online materials or through mere discussions with other drivers. You need to practice your driving as well and this is what is going to make you a real driver. With the help of a professional, you will eventually not only learn the skills of driving but also become a safe and independent driver. The question nevertheless is whether you will be able to get afford the driving lessons though as the rates are not very cheap nowadays.

All driving instructors have their own rates that they charge for lessons. Some may be expensive and others affordable. Cheaper rates do not necessarily mean that the driving standards are going to be poor. This depends on the driving instructor - a good tutor will always put his reputation first regardless of what you are paying for the driving lessons. The honest instructor will treat you equal and make sure that you pass your practical test as soon as you can. However this depends on the learner driver because we all learn at different speeds. Someone can have just a couple of lessons and pass while others may need to have hundreds of hours of tuition but yet fail. No one is to blame though because we learn at our own pace - some things may be simpler for us to understand and others may be a little more difficult and it's better to take things slowly rather than rush through things and regret it later. You want to become a safe and confident driver and not just pass the driving test but be scared of driving on your own afterwards, right?

There are many driving instructors who unforntunately con vulnerable students to make money from them. So you need to be careful who you choose to teach you driving. It's always best to get somebody who has been recommended by friends or family and even if the fees for driving lessons seem cheap or expensive, at least you know you can trust that person because the latter made somebody you know pass their test. If you want to get the best deals for driving lessons, you can always search online for driving instructors and contact them individually but there's the risk that you don't know whether the instructor will turn out to be a good one or bad tutor. If you can read reviews about the instructor before committing any money, then that's even better. Otherwise, I'd say go through recommendations to be on the safe side.

To help you bring down the total costs of learning to drive, you should also consider getting someone (friend/family) to give you private driving practice so that you can learn faster and not require too many lessons before you could be ready for the practical driving test.
