As more and more music in the form of MP3 is being downloaded off the Internet, many people have started to look for a car mp3 player so that they can listen to their favourite tunes whilst driving. Some people have attempted to create their own mp3 player to play music in their car but there's no need to do that now as you can find a good MP3 player with a lot of functions for less than £10!

As you can see, most of these devices come with USB support to make it easy for plug & play, that is, if you already have a pen drive with your favourite songs loaded, you just have to connect it to your car mp3 player and listen to your music.

The remote control makes it easy for you to turn the device on and off but also allows you to skip certain songs by pressing the forward button. You'll also be able to pause songs and resume playback afterwards.

Some of the devices have AUX support which is often the preferred way of connecting rather than through FM transmission as the sound seems to be clearer and nicer.

With the LCD screen, it makes it easier to find information about a particular song, namely who the artist is, how long the music lasts for and the track name. You can also navigate through your folder hierarchy and find specific files on storage on the most expensive model.

A car mp3 player is a must have device these days as it has a headphone plug which can fit in your iPod/iPhone, PDA, MP3, CD/cassette player, PC or laptop. Once connected, it then sends FM radio waves to your car stereo which causes your music to play. The frequency shown on the car mp3 player LCD needs to be matched on the car stereo and the range of frequencies allowed are from 87.5MHz to 108.0MHz, so you will need to make sure that you have a clear FM frequency available within that range. The transmitter also comes with a rechargeable power supply to preserve your batteries. You will simply need to connect the power cord supplied with it to your car cigarette lighter. This will save your battery lifetime if you're in for a long journey.

It is advisable to buy an mp3 player that can be powered through the car lighter and one which has a standard headphone jack to enable you to play music from different devices. If possible, go for an mp3 player that's a little bit more expensive to get a known brand so that you can achieve better sound quality and longer battery lifetime when listening to music.
